Prof. Kyungsun SUH studied composition at the Seoul National University and at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, MA, U.S.A.   Since 1976 she has presented her chamber and orchestral works in Seoul, Rome, Wellington, Sendai, Taipei, Fiuggi, St. Petersburg, Tokyo, Freiburg, Hong Kong, Manila, London, UC Santa Cruz, UC Berkeley, UC Davis and Los Angeles.

Her primary intention in all of her compositions has always been the dissolution of Korean cultural heritage in Western musical forms on which her music is originally laid. She also has written works for the Korean traditional instruments (including voice) recently.

She was the Chairperson of Executive Committee of the Asian Composers League(ACL).   As the chairperson of Korea National Committee of ACL, she organized 2002 Asia Contemporaty Music Festival in Seoul and Suwon.

Currently she is professor of composition and theory at the Hanyang University in Seoul, and Honorary member of of the Asian Composers League(ACL).
